Honestman 9 years, 7 months ago on PM hits out at Baha Mar ‘lie’

It is clear that the PLP is about to sanction the handing over of Baha Mar to the Chinese because it is the quickest way to have the resort completed. CCA will acquire the property and finish it to its dubious standards (not internationally accepted standards which will cause problems down the line) Bahamian contractors and creditors will be sacrificed in Christie's desperation to have the resort construction completed before next May. Further concessions will be granted to CCA (to the dismay of Atlantis Resorts) With CCA already pushing ahead with "the Pointe" the Chinese will therefore have a dominant grip over the Bahamian economy for years to come. Christie is about to "sell his soul to the devil" in his desperation to stay in power for another five year term. What a tragedy for the country! What a legacy!

The excessively generous deal that Christie is now prepared to cut with CCA and the China Export Import Bank is irrefutable proof that Christie and his Chinese partners in crime all along intended to unjustly enrich themselves by effectively stealing the Baha Mar development from Sarkis Izmirlian. But Christie and his Chinese partners in crime are not content to just steal Izmirlian's $1 billion equity stake in Baha Mar, they also want to steal everything they possible can from the Bahamian people for many years to come through outrageously excessive tax concessions of one kind or another that will break the backs of honest hard working Bahamian taxpayers who will have to pony up from their own pockets to compensate for Christie's unseemly generosity to his Chinese partners in crime. Undoubtedly Christie, Bagman Baltron Bethel, the Wicked Witch of the West and their close circle of political friends and cronies (including their family members) are "on the take big time" in their dealings with the corrupt Chinese beneficiaries of their wrong doing!

The truth is the Doctor is the best the FNM has. Doctor Sands and Butler Turner are both very pompous and they are not liked by many. The FNM Party does not have the ability to attrack the Bahamas finest sons and daughters. I am sorry Mr: Wells followed Dr: Rollins. They all should have known that Rollins is trouble.

Comrades it's hard to recall a time in the two daily newspapers long publishing histories when they have been more obvious at dumbing down their readerships.
You'd think by not coming right out and naming MP's Loretta and Richard in each and every store to remove Minnis, they're not being cutely coy in pretending they do not know the identities the two main MP's leading the revolt to regain the UBP's leadership of the red shirts party?
Same goes how their cozy relationships with Save the Bays, panties are showing. You'd think they got the main STB's characters, straight off the Lyford Cay's casting couch's most well-know agent. Or, did they?

Bahamians are not as stupid as these politicians think (I hope so) We all know this PLP government don't have any idea how to govern this country but if providing jobs even if its for 52 weeks or an election ploy is the best thing considering those 10,000 jobs went down in flames with Bahamar

Well_mudda_take_sic 9 years, 7 months ago on Jobs scheme 'is an election ploy'

LBT has it wrong again....the $22 million "Jobs Scheme" is not an "election ploy": It's ELECTION FRAUD!" When the corrupt Christie-led PLP government takes the taxes it charges hard working honest Bahamians and their businesses (e.g. VAT, business license fees, etc.) and uses those same taxes to "buy votes" in the year before the next general election, it can only be described as ELECTION FRAUD or better still, PLAIN OUTRIGHT THEFT from the already excessively over-burdened Bahamian taxpayers. Every Bahamian taxpayer should make it a point to vote for the independent candidate who may be running in their constituency in the next general election or not vote at all, and to encourage their family members and employees in the private sector to do likewise.

Can somebody help me and give me where I can find that information in our Constitution?

Comrade Licks2 it becomes completely irrelevant compared to the act of the red MP's threats to use Her Majesty's Representative for the Colony, as their personal removal agent to execute the firing of their party's leader in the Honourable House of Assembly.

Actually, this is the second $20 million allocation made in two consecutive budgets for the exact same program, only the program never happened for the first allocation, so where did that $20 million go? I did not expect these FNMs to ask that question up front of course, since that would require actually going into the budget and studying it prior to making a public statement.

Forget voting monitors, we need monitors for how Minnis goes about getting fresh fish delivered to his home! Minnis, as a dishonest and incompetent politician with absolutely no leadership skills whatsoever, has fractured the FNM party into smithereens and left it deprived of funding from many of its past financial backers. Christie and the PLP are banking on those FNM Council members who unwisely continue to support Minnis to secure a big win for the PLP in the next general election. Minnis is truly Christie's "ace in the hole" as can be seen by from that sly grin on Christie's face whenever Minnis opens his mouth as leader of the opposition and FNM party.

LBT should not have criticized Minnis on this emotive issue. Let the public do that. I am sure she lost more votes than she would get at convention because of this

Only people that Failed were the Yes vote and the Government for not probably educating the population. No one could have changed the results of this referendum. You set that sit on the Tribune and blame Minnis for all the ills of the world are just pathetic. It's the PMs job as he is the Leader of the Nation to champion this cause. Whiles I'm sadden that vote directly affects children to say this is solely about women right is just asinine and disingenuous. Stop making women out to be second class citizens in the Bahamas. Woman are at the top in our society and are pretty much the ones shaping the minds of our youths.

Minnis was the only one acting like a leader. He did the right thing. You people are fascist, had the Government been trustworthy number 1 and 3 would have most definitely pass.

Comrades if I have any criticism heading Minnis's way it would be - what in hell took you so long put Long Island's Loretta to the test - can she take it from her party's leader the way she so delights in dishing out?
The referendum didn't go her yellow t-shirt way and what is first thing she does. Attack her own party's leader who defeated her at convention 290 to 108 votes..
And, don't forget to deal as swiftly with the two red MP "Rebels Without A Cause, Chippie and Richard if they start with their Loretta crap.
Comrade Sister Loretta, the July convention you wanted so damn badly, ain't going be no soft ride for you. It going be a far cry from any convention you have ever attended. She going be rough, really rough.
Your UBP's $500 thousand to assemble convention delegates is going to be a major financial failure. The kinds no Bay Street Boy have ever experienced.

Comrade Honestman's, you do understand tis not I but one of Loretta's very own red shirts and a high profile one at that, who has gone public to firmly 'named' the UBP wing of the party for orchestrating the paying the way to Nassau Town, for all the out island convention delegates to unseat Minnis? We are talking airfare, hotel, food, etc, etc.
How can you not see this as a most serious 500 Thousand Dollars accusation that has not been denied, even though some were publicly called-out as the lead players?
Are you suggesting the red member is a liar?

John 9 years, 6 months ago on Minnis mocks Loretta criticism

The NO vote was more a vote against the government than anything else. The electorate does not trust this government. They feel the need for payback. They wanted their voices to be heard and because the referendum was so clouded in suspicion they voted NO. They still will have opportunities to change the constitution and when they have the confidence of the government, they will do so. As a point Minni's constituency had some of the highest numbers in favor of the 'yes' vote. So Butler-Turners argument does not compute.
