Management ...Board of Directors......should of course be held responsible.......for loosing market share....profits.....eventual staff lay offs....BUT ....then again wid govt involved....friends...families....lovers.....cronies...constituents....involved....noone ...will be held accountable .......but the pore taxpayer will have to pay wid more taxes....and any private company involved and part of the competion process.....know how the ease of doing business...

This is why I was against selling BTC and opening the market. The numbers (client base population) just weren't there to have a thriving competitive marketplace. With markets this small, there will always be a monopoly. I would rather the monopoly be owned by the Government and all the BAHAMIAN public than a few private players. The service has changed, but it hasn't changed that much.

Have you not read the article? Sure, things have gotten better, but both BTC and Aliv are fighting for their life. BTC is hemorrhaging clients and Aliv is drowning in debt. The status quo cannot last indefinitely. At some point, one of the companies will go belly up and then the monopoly will lead to price increases and poor services once again, except this time the owners will be private.
