A 100-YEAR-OLD woman marked her "X" for the Democratic National Alliance (DNA) in a bid to encourage budding politicians.
Born in 1912, Sybil Carey has been an active participant in the maturation of the country's democracy and electoral process since she moved to the capital 75 years ago.
"I came to Nassau when I was 25 years old from Tarpum Bay, Eleuthera, and I've been here ever since. I voted for the first time with the UBP but after that I voted for the FNM."
She added: "By the way, my husband actually helped to start the PLP. His name is never mentioned, but he was one of the founders, Samuel Joseph Carey.
"I voted for the DNA because it's a young party just starting out," Mrs Carey said.

Mrs. Carey, otherwise known to me as Granny, has always been one engaged and smart woman!
