CELEBRATING its 210th anniversary, the Ebenezer Methodist Church presents "Sing a Song of Joy", the first of two annual concerts. Presented by the Music Department of Ebenezer under the direction of Music Director Barry Newbold, the concert will be held on Sunday May 20, starting at 7pm in the Church Sanctuary on Shirley Street.

"This is the spring concert and it is known to be an inspiration to all who attend. It is always well attended," said Karen Pinder, member of the Ebenezer Methodist Church.

"I can tell you that people would remember our last concert, the Christmas concert that was held in December, as one of the best ever," she said.

At the concert the Sanctuary Choir and Band will perform, as well as members of the Bahamas National Symphony Orchestra and other guest musicians and singers.

Ms Pinder said the highly anticipated concert has been in the planning stages since early February and preparations continue at a fever pitch with the hopes of topping the last event.

"The audience will hear new arrangements of favorite hymns. One special performance will be a piano, organ, brass, percussion rendition of 'Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory,' which promises to delight the congregation. Guest soloists for the evening will be Giovanna Knowles, a very talented vocalist and Carina Dorsett, an equally talented florist. The evening will also include congregational singing," said Ms Pinder.

There is no charge for admission but an offering will be received. Ebenezer Minister Rev Godfrey Bethel and the Ebenezer congregation is inviting all to attend. For more information, please call the church office at 393-2936.
