SOFTBALL

BANKERS SOFTBALL

WITH the exception of the pennant-deciding game that will be played just before the first round of the playoffs between the BAF Stars and Fidelity Bulldogs, this coming Saturday will signify the end of the regular season.

Saturday’s games in the Banker’s Field at the Baillou Hills Sporting Complex will determine whether Colina or Commonwealth Bank will clinch that final playoff spot.

THE New Providence Oldtimers Softball Association continued its regular season at the Archdeacon Canon William Thompson Park over the weekenD. The following results were posted:

Doc Stallions 16

The winning pitcher was Anthony Rolle and the loser was Ian Graham. Dencil ‘Joe Black’ Clarke, in four-at-bats, had three hits with a home run, driving in three runs and scoring three times.

Cabinet World 12,

Proper Care Sharks 9

The winning pitcher was Val Munroe and the loser was Foster Dorsett. George Henderson, in his three-at-bats, had three hits with three RBI and two runs scored.

Yelroms Home Boys 12,

Giants 5

The winning pitcher was Junior Moss and the loser was Paul Moss. Ivan Francis, in four-at-bats, had two RBI and scored three times.

Dozer Pros 17, Truckers

The winning pitcher was Alfred Munnings and the loser was Kermit Mackey. Dwayne Dean, in his four-at-bat, had three hits, including a home run, driving in two runs and scoring twice.

Crusaders 15, BTC Vibes 8

The winning pitcher was Greg Gardiner and Frank Deveaux. Kevin Hinsey, in his two-at-bat, had two hits with a home run, driving in three runs and scoring two more.

The winning pitcher was Keith Richards and the loser was Frank Rolle. Charlie Gaitor, in his five-at-bat, had four hits with five RBI and two runs scored.

The winning pitcher was Franco Brown and the loser was David Brown. Chavez Thompson, in his four-at-bat, had two hits with a home run, driving in four runs and scoring two runs.

BSC SOFTBALL

THE Baptist Sports Council is scheduled to hold a meeting 10am Saturday, September 20 at the Jordan Prince Williams High School, Cowpen Road, for all churches interested in participating in the 2014 Coca-Cola Softball Classic. The season will comprise of the men, ladies and 19-and-under divisions. The cost is $200 per team in each division. All churches interested in participating are urged to send two members.

BSC TRACK

THE Baptist Sports Council is scheduled to hold a meeting 10am Saturday, September 20, at the Jordan Prince Williams High School, Cowpen Road, for all churches interested in participating in the 2014 Rubis Track and Field Classic at the original Thomas A Robinson Track and Field Stadium on October 11. Categories include under-5, under-10, under-15, -under-20, open and masters men and women. The registration fee is $5 per athlete. All churches interested in participating are urged to send two members. Refreshments will be served.
