A 21-year-old man is recovering in hospital after he was shot by police officers after a high-speed chase on Thursday morning.
According to reports, police on patrol observed two males in a green 1998 Mitsubishi Lancer driving in a dangerous manner west on Carmichael Road near Faith Avenue shortly after 11am.
The officers attempted to stop the vehicle but the men sped off at high speed.
A chase ended at Golden Isles Road, where the vehicle slowed and the passenger pointed a handgun at the police.
The officers, in fear for their lives, fired at the suspects, who sped off in the area of Excellence Estates, where the vehicle came to a stop.
Police arrested the driver but the suspect with the firearm ran into nearby bushes and was shot in the thigh and eventually arrested. The two suspects, aged 26 and 21, are in custody for firearm possession.
The injured suspect was taken to hospital, where he remains under heavy police guard in stable condition. Investigations are on

In custody for firearm possession!?!?! What about attempted murder??? People who point a gun and pull the trigger are trying to kill you.
I have always wondered why police want to 'capture' people who try to shoot and kill them. They should have let him bleed out in the bushes and then put a cross next to his stinking corpse!

The time has come to shoot to kill, no bail needed. This will be another one out on bail looking for revenge against the officer that shot him and probably killing someone else in the process.
