GRAND Bahama Police are investigating an apparent suicide after a young woman was found dead on Wednesday morning at a residence in Jones Town in Eight Mile Rock.
The victim, 20-year-old Tanisha Natalie Mark, was found hanging in a bedroom of the home. She was unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene.
Family members are said to be devastated. The young woman lived with her mother and grandparents.
Details were sketchy up to press time, but The Tribune understands that prior to her death she may have been involved in an argument with a family member.
A team of officers was dispatched to the scene to investigate. The body was taken to the Rand Memorial Hospital’s morgue, where an autopsy will be performed to determined the cause of death.
Stabbing
A young man is in hospital following a stabbing on Wednesday afternoon in Freeport.
Police officers were called to an apartment complex at Coral Gardens sometime around noon in connection with a stabbing.
The victim was stabbed multiple times by another man, who fled on foot. The area was cordoned off as police conducted their investigations. The victim is detained at the Rand Memorial Hospital in serious condition.
