Hyo-Joo Kim wins Pure Silk-Bahamas Classic

HYO-JOO Kim, of South Korea, held onto a two-stroke lead over the closing holes of the Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic on Sunday to win the tournament amid spectacular scoring from a host of leading names on the Ocean Club course, Paradise Island.

Kim, 20, had a run of four birdies in five holes from the fourth and then three in a row from the 12th hole to move past joint overnight leaders Charley Hull and Anna Nordqvist. A dropped shot at the 16th was followed by a successful nine-foot putt birdie at the par-three 17th to leave her 18 under par (274 total) for the tournament - the first on the 2016 LPGA tour calendar - and she held on to finish two clear of American Stacy Lewis, last year's champion Sei Young Kim, both of whom carded a final round 68, and Nordqvist.

Needing an eagle to force a playoff, world No.3 Lewis parred the par-five 18th for a 68 to finish runner up again. She has nine runner-up finishes in a 40-event victory drought that dates back to June 2014. The 11-times tour winner has 22 career second-place finishes.

Paula Creamer, another American, led a trio of players at 15-under-par after an excellent round of 66 which included Il Hee Lee and Thailand's Pornanong Phatlum, who raced to the turn in 29 with seven birdies. Among the players at 14 under par was Brittany Lincicombe, who birdied the last in a round of 65, and Hull, whose momentum was lost with a dropped shot at the tenth.

Well done "Ocean Club", you looked "good" on Network TV and in turn, unlike "Albany" made The Bahamas look good and somewhere people who have not already visited might like to one day, possibly even acquire a second home. Congratulations on not only building, but more importantly maintaining a World Class Property!
