AN AMERICAN visitor to the Bahamas drowned during a diving trip off New Providence on Saturday, police have reported.
According to reports, shortly after 10am, an American man on a diving trip with a group in waters off Stuart Cove's Dive Bahamas in western New Providence, fell unconscious. Despite extensive CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation live saving technique) efforts the man was declared dead by a medical doctor.
An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death. The identity of the man is being withheld pending notification of family members and police investigations are ongoing.

Just what a tourist's family want's , the bahamas hacking up the body of a loved one before sending it back home. It'll look like is was attached with a chainsaw by the time we're done with it.

I am glad they are doing an autopsy. They tried to say it was a heart attack, but I think they hooked up his equipment wrong because I saw him struggle with it before he got off the boat. They should have had a defibrillator ready to try to bring him back, and from what we saw they didn't have it.
Also they didnt give us any emergency signals so the guy had no way to communicate he was in an emergency situation. The tour guide master divers also did not communicate to us the divers, or to the boat driver it was an emergency so by the time they got him on the boat he was already too far gone.
