A FEMALE accountant accused of stealing more than $1.6m from two construction companies over nearly two years was granted $400,000 bail on Friday.
Prosecutors allege Monique Minnis, 53, stole a total of $1,684,030.20 from Rule Construction Company and Paradise Contracting Services between December 6, 2023 and June 3, 2025.
The funds were allegedly accessible to her by reason of her employment.
Minnis pleaded not guilty to nine counts each of stealing by reason of employment and money laundering before Senior Magistrate Kendra Kelly Burrows.
She was granted $400,000 bail and must sign in at her local police station every Thursday.
Minnis returns to court for trial on November 26.
