Housekeeper granted bail over alleged $38,000 theft charge

A HOUSEKEEPER accused of stealing $38,749.81 over six months was granted $7,500 bail.

Prosecutors allege Shavette Bain, 29, stole the money from a woman in New Providence between June 2, 2025, and January 3.

Bain pleaded not guilty to stealing before Senior Magistrate Algernon Allen Jr.

Under the terms of her bail, Bain must sign in at the Alice Town Police Station every Friday by 7pm.

Her trial is scheduled to begin on October 23.

Inspector Timothy Bain prosecuted the case.
