A MAN accused of a shooting near Wulff Road was remanded to prison yesterday.

Prosecutors allege Axsion Ormelus, 25, attempted to shoot and kill Lavon Pratt, 23, with a handgun on Peach Street at 1.30pm on February 13.

The victim was treated for his injuries in hospital.

Ormelus was not required to enter a plea to attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life when he appeared before acting Chief Magistrate Ancella Evans.

He was informed that the case would proceed to the Supreme Court through a voluntary bill of indictment (VBI) and that he could apply to the higher court for bail.

Ormelus was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until service of his VBI on January 27, 2027.

Corporal Moultrie prosecuted the case.
