A MAN awaiting trial for a 2021 fatal shooting on Second Street was remanded to prison after allegedly breaching his bail conditions for 77 days.
Prosecutors allege Vanton Sturrup, 25, failed to sign in at his local police station for 77 days between February 13 and August 10.
Sturrup was on bail on pending charges of murder and attempted murder.
He is accused of the fatal shooting of Lucksom Veus and the attempted murder of Nelson Miller in Coconut Grove on December 2, 2021.
Sturrup pleaded not guilty to violating his bail conditions before Magistrate Abigail Farrington.
The prosecutor objected to bail, citing the serious nature of the alleged offence and the risk to public safety.
Sturrup was denied bail and remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services.
He returns for trial on September 2.
