Marathon residents received guidance on mortgage financing, real estate, insurance and construction during a homeownership initiative.
The “Let’s Talk House” initiative formed part of Marathon MP Lisa Rahming’s first constituency branch meeting since the May 2026 General Elections.
The event brought prospective homeowners together with representatives from mortgage financing, real estate, insurance, construction and property development companies to discuss the different stages of purchasing and developing a home.
Presentations covered mortgage qualification, financing options, property selection, residential development and insurance coverage, while residents were able to ask questions directly of industry professionals.
Participating organisations included the Ministry of Urban Renewal and Community Relations, Twenty Twenty Associates, Bahamas Mortgage Corporation, Corcoran Bahamas, Arwak Homes, Colonial Realty, Teachers Credit Union, Keller Williams Bahamas, Colina Insurance and Loans by Phone.
Mrs Rahming said the initiative was intended to connect residents with practical information and resources that could help them move towards homeownership.
The meeting also gave residents an opportunity to raise concerns about issues affecting the community.
Some residents received BPL and Rubis fuel vouchers, while other prizes, including an air-conditioning unit and microwave, were distributed through raffles.
