THE Bahamas’ NBA 2K 3v3 national team finished first out of seven countries in the Global Esports Games Regional Qualifiers, with Dwight Clarke Jr, Jeremiah Cooper Jr and Clint Newry battling through three tiebreakers against Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.

The Bahamas Esports Federation confirmed the result in its latest update, thanking the trio for representing the country in the regional competition.

The first-place finish gives The Bahamas a strong result in its bid to advance through the Global Esports Games qualification process.

The Bahamas has been active across several esports titles in recent international competition.

In Clash Royale, Eric Bain III finished the Global Esports Games Regional Qualifiers with a 2-4 record, while Gary Black Jr placed seventh out of 12 countries.

The Bahamas has also been represented in eFootball during the Global Esports Games regional qualifying process, with Bain competing for the country.

Outside of the Global Esports Games, The Bahamas competed in the Esports Nations Cup qualifiers in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.

Belano Francique, Joseph Darville, Terell Martin, Angelique Francique, Alexander Stubbs and K’lan Butler represented the country, with the team finishing fifth out of eight teams.

Earlier this month, Derek Wong Jr represented The Bahamas in Street Fighter 6 at the Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He finished fifth out of 16 countries. The recent results highlight the growing number of Bahamian players competing internationally across different esports titles.

Several Bahamian athletes remain in the qualification stage of their respective international esports competitions, with qualification outcomes still being determined.

The Tribune will provide updates as the remaining Bahamian representatives progress through the qualification process.
