Suspected human remains found in a bushy area in Grand Bahama

SUSPECTED human remains were discovered in a bushy area in Grand Bahama yesterday.

According to a preliminary police report, shortly before noon, a man called contacted police after discovering what appeared to be a human skull while walking through a bushy shortcut leading to East Mall Drive.

Officers responded and were directed about 30 feet into the bushes, where they observed what appeared to be a human skull.

A subsequent search of the surrounding area led to the discovery of additional remains believed to be human.

Detectives processed the scene before the suspected remains were collected and transported to Rand Memorial Hospital.

Police said a pathologist will examine the remains as part of the investigation.
