A 47-year-old man admitted to sexually assaulting a woman during a 2024 home invasion in the middle of his trial yesterday.
Mike Dwayne Rahming pleaded guilty to charges of rape and burglary just days after his trial began before Justice Loren Klein.
During the trial, the court heard a recording of the defendant apologising to the victim for the rape and burglary during a confrontation. He also asked the woman to forgive him.
Rahming broke into the woman's residence and raped her on October 20, 2024.
Following his guilty plea, he was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until he returns to court for sentencing later this year.
Janessa Murray and Terneille Bain prosecuted the case.
Nathan Bain represented the accused.
