THREE Eleuthera residents were charged on Friday with the murder of missing mother Katrina Kelly, more than a week after her disappearance prompted an extensive search and rewards totalling up to $52,500 for information about her whereabouts.


Rico Hepburn, 31, Dencil "Gio" Delancy, 34, and Jakita Cash, 43, were charged with murder and causing damage in connection with Kelly's disappearance.


Prosecutors alleged that the three, being concerned together, intentionally and unlawfully caused Kelly's death in Eleuthera on August 11.


They were also accused of intentionally and unlawfully damaging Kelly's 2013 Nissan Cube, valued at $7,000, on August 12.


The defendants were not required to enter pleas to the murder charge and may apply to the Supreme Court for bail. 

The charges are the latest development in the investigation into the disappearance of Kelly, a 34-year-old mother of two from Bluff, Eleuthera, who was last seen on the night of August 11.


Police issued a missing-person poster on August 14 and later deployed additional investigators and police canines to Eleuthera as the search intensified. 

Police, volunteers and divers also participated in the search.
Kelly's family initially offered a $2,500 reward for information leading to her safe return.


The Fox Foundation subsequently offered up to $50,000 for information leading to her whereabouts.
Police announced on Friday that two men, aged 31 and 34, and a 43-year-old woman would be charged following the investigation into Kelly's disappearance.


Police had said the suspects were expected to face charges of murder, damage to property and compounding a crime.


Hepburn, Delancy and Cash were remanded pending their applications for bail in the Supreme Court.


Their matter was adjourned to February 4, 2027, when they are expected to be served with voluntary bills of indictment.
