A MAN accused of trying to cut off his monitoring device while awaiting trial on a causing harm charge was remanded to prison.
Prosecutors allege Nelson Scott, 22, tried to cut off and remove his monitoring device at 9pm on August 20 in New Providence.
Scott pleaded not guilty to violating his bail conditions before Magistrate Abigail Farrington.
The prosecution objected to bail, arguing that the nature of the offence made Scott a flight risk.
Scott was denied bail and remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services.
His trial is scheduled to begin on September 7.
Assistant Superintendent of Police K Bauld served as the prosecutor.
