A DEFENCE Force officer was charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger lives and possession of dangerous drugs when he appeared in Grand Bahama’s Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
Quron Rolle, 34, of Freeport, pleaded guilty to possession of 2.5 grams of marijuana.
But he pleaded not guilty to two counts of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger the lives of two police officers.
During his arraignment before Magistrate Olivia Blatch, Rolle accepted the facts presented by the prosecution in relation to the drug charge.
The court heard that at about 4.09am on Saturday, August 22, officers from the Rapid Response Unit went to No. 7 Manton Lane, where they searched Rolle and found two clear plastic zip-lock packages containing marijuana.
Rolle was arrested and taken to the Drug Enforcement Unit office.
At the DEU office, he was interviewed and admitted possessing 2.5 grams of marijuana valued at $25.
Magistrate Blatch adjourned sentencing on the drug charge to September 8 at 1pm.
In relation to the firearm charges, it is alleged that on the same date and at the same location, Rolle possessed a 12-gauge shotgun with intent to endanger the lives of Sergeant Burrows and Corporal Claria Thompson.
The firearm matter was adjourned to February 15, 2027.
