THREE MEN were accused of possessing $1.68m worth of cocaine and a loaded gun in Exuma last weekend.
Prosecutors allege Jonathon Cartwright, 43, Clatrico McKenzie, 31, and Terrance Gilbert, 40, were found with 222lbs of cocaine, a black Austrian Glock pistol and 12 rounds of .40 ammunition at Farmers Cay Dock, Exuma, at about 5.30pm on August 22.
Police said officers, acting on information received, travelled to the dock aboard a police vessel and searched a white Intrepid boat equipped with two outboard engines.
They allegedly found 84 packages containing suspected cocaine, a firearm, ammunition and an official passport belonging to a 43-year-old Bahamian man.
The suspected cocaine weighed an estimated 222lbs, or approximately 84 kilograms, and had an estimated street value of $1.68m.
Cartwright, McKenzie and Gilbert were charged with possession of dangerous drugs with intent to supply, conspiracy to possess dangerous drugs with intent to supply, possession of an unlicensed firearm and possession of ammunition.
They pleaded not guilty to all charges before Senior Magistrate Raquel Whyms.
The defendants were each granted $100,000 bail with one to three sureties.
Under the terms of their bail, they will be fitted with monitoring devices and must sign in at their local police station every Monday, Wednesday and Friday by 7pm.
Their trial is scheduled to begin on January 19, 2027.
