Young people in the Free Town constituency are getting a practical introduction to entrepreneurship this week through MP Lincoln Deal's three-day Kid-Preneur Summer Camp, where participants are learning how to develop business ideas, build brands and market products.
The camp concludes today with a Community Market Day, giving participants the opportunity to put their new skills into practice by showcasing and selling products they have developed during the programme.
Held at Palmdale Primary School, the camp is open to children aged 10 to 16 and is designed to promote entrepreneurship, financial literacy and self-reliance through interactive workshops and hands-on learning.
Over the three days, campers have been introduced to the fundamentals of starting a business, including branding, product development and pitching business ideas. Each participant will complete the programme with a business certificate, their own brand, a business pitch and real-world selling experience.
According to Mr Deal, the initiative forms part of his broader effort to equip young people in the constituency with practical economic and life skills while encouraging innovation and an entrepreneurial mindset from an early age.
