A MAN accused of fleeing from police and discarding a loaded firearm on Eleuthera Avenue last week was granted bail yesterday.
Prosecutors allege Davonte Rigby, 28, ran from officers after opening the door of his Yamacraw residence to allow them to conduct a search around 7.30am on July 24.
While being pursued, Rigby allegedly discarded a green and black Glock P80 9mm pistol loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition.
He was later arrested, and the firearm was recovered.
Rigby pleaded not guilty to possession of an unlicensed firearm and possession of ammunition before Senior Magistrate Algernon Allen Jr.
Sergeant 3004 Forbes, the prosecutor, did not object to bail but asked that conditions be imposed.
Rigby must sign in at the Fox Hill Police Station every day by 6pm and obey a 9pm to 9am curfew.
His trial is scheduled for October 30.
