Two fined in separate drug possession cases

TWO people were fined in separate Magistrate’s Court matters after being convicted of possession of dangerous drugs with intent to supply.

Devon Brennen, 30, of Bimini Bay, was convicted after admitting to possessing Indian hemp with intent to supply.

Prosecutors alleged that on June 13, Brennen was found with 2.5 ounces of Indian hemp in North Bimini with intent to supply it to another person.

He was fined $800 or, in default of payment, sentenced to two months at the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services. He was also placed on six months’ probation.

In a separate matter, Rodricka Tamika Minnis, 33, of Trinidad Avenue, Elizabeth Estates, was convicted of possession of dangerous drugs with intent to supply.

Senior Magistrate Raquel Whyms heard that on June 16, Minnis was found with 20 grams of Indian hemp in New Providence with intent to supply it to another person.

She was fined $300 or, in default of payment, sentenced to one month at the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services.
