A MAN accused of stealing from an Eastern Road home and damaging its security system was granted bail yesterday.
Prosecutors allege Gerrard Davis, 28, unlawfully entered David Peebles’ residence on Eastern Road at 3.45am on June 19 and stole his lawn mower and weed whacker.
During the same incident, Davis allegedly damaged five surveillance cameras, a WiFi antenna and three solar panels. The estimated damage was $730.
Davis pleaded not guilty to unlawful entry, damage and stealing before Senior Magistrate Kendra Kelly Burrows.
His bail was set at $3,500 with one or two sureties.
Under the terms of his bail, Davis must be fitted with a monitoring device and sign in at the Wulff Road Police Station every Friday by 6pm.
He was warned not to interfere with witnesses or risk having his bail revoked.
Davis returns for trial on September 9.
Sergeant Vernon Pyfrom prosecuted the case.
