A MAN was remanded to prison last week after he was accused of breaching his bail while awaiting trial for allegedly having a loaded assault rifle in New Providence last year.

Prosecutors allege Marcello Harris, 30, failed to charge his monitoring device at 8.38pm on June 17.

Harris is awaiting trial on charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm and possession of ammunition with intent to supply.

The defendant was allegedly found with a Del-Ton Inc rifle and 27 rounds of .223 ammunition on July 20, 2025.

Harris initially pleaded guilty to violating his bail conditions before Magistrate Abigail Farrington. However, after he did not accept the facts of the case, a not guilty plea was entered.

After prosecutor Assistant Superintendent of Police Kendrick Bauld objected to bail, it was denied.

Harris returns to court for trial on August 29.
