Letters: International diplomacy-Leadership

EDITOR, The Tribune.

THE visit of King Charles III was well prepared and executed by the Davis Administration. Yes, some of the cosmetics could have been done a bit earlier so as not to appear to be a ‘rush’ job but, overall, I have no major complaints. I extend congratulations to the coordinators of the event, especially the Hon Leslia Miller-Brice (PLP-Sea Breeze), our hard-working Minister of Culture!

All of the participants behaved well and it would appear that His Majesty enjoyed the public events. He would have last been here in 1973 when the Union Jack, the British flag, was lowered for the last time as we gained Independence. Fifty-three years later, here we are; progressing incrementally and looking forward to a ‘golden age’ under the guidance of the Rt Hon Philip Brave Davis, KC, MP.

The Commissioner of Police; her team and all of the other law enforcement agencies, did a superb job in ensuring law and order; public safety and traffic control. Kudos! Permanent Secretary to Her Excellency, Jack Thompson, out did himself on this spectacular vent!

The biggest congratulations, however, go to none other than our Prime Minister. He demonstrated the ‘stuff’ of which Prime Ministers are made. He, having known King Charles III for a number of years, appeared completely at ease and jovial This showcase event, demonstrated, again, the PM’s grasp on international diplomacy and clear leadership!

I predict that many benefits will accrue to The Bahamas as a result of this historic visit. To God then, in all things, inclusive of ‘God Save the King, be the glory!!
