A 28-YEAR-OLD man was charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder and accessory after the fact in connection with the killing of a father of two at his Cowpen Road West home.

Julio Deveaux, of 24 Mollie Street, was accused of intentionally and unlawfully causing the death of Edner Demlvard, while concerned with others, in New Providence on September 23, 2026.

The conspiracy charge alleged that Deveaux, while concerned with others, agreed with a common purpose to commit murder on the same date.

The accessory charge alleged that Deveaux, knowing that Aaron Lewis and Javonne Lewis had committed murder, assisted them for the purpose of enabling them to avoid due process of the law.

The victim was previously reported as a father of two, widely known as Bush.

Police press liaison Chief Superintendent Sheria King said police were alerted to the shooting around 1.30pm. Responding officers found a man in his early 30s with apparent gunshot wounds to his upper body.

Chief Supt King said preliminary information indicated that the man was at home when someone knocked at his door. When he answered, individuals outside opened fire, fatally shooting him.

Deon Barr prosecuted the matter.

Deveaux was not required to enter a plea, as his case will proceed by way of a voluntary bill of indictment, and he can apply to the Supreme Court for bail.

His next court date is November 26, 2026.
