A 28-YEAR-OLD man was remanded to prison yesterday after being accused of attempting to murder another man by stabbing him with a screwdriver during an altercation on Hospital Lane last week.
Joshua Williams allegedly stabbed Henrich Curry in the upper body during a physical confrontation at about 9.30pm on October 5.
Williams was reportedly also stabbed during the confrontation.
Curry was transported to hospital in a private vehicle, where he received treatment in the trauma room.
Police later allegedly found Williams carrying the same screwdriver used in the attack without lawful cause. The weapon was seized as evidence.
Williams appeared before acting Chief Magistrate Ancella Evans on charges of attempted murder and unlawfully carrying arms.
He was not required to enter a plea and was informed that his case would proceed to the Supreme Court through a voluntary bill of indictment, scheduled to be served on January 28, 2027.
Williams was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services after being advised of his right to apply to the Supreme Court for bail.
Inspector Deon Barr prosecuted the case.
