A 21-YEAR-OLD man was granted $5,000 bail yesterday after denying that he attacked another man with a glass bottle on Victoria Avenue earlier this month.

Adrian Sweeting, of Bernard Road, appeared before Magistrate Abigail Farrington charged with assault with a dangerous instrument and causing harm.

Prosecutors alleged that Sweeting assaulted Andrew Morrison with a glass bottle around 8.40pm on October 9, causing him harm.

Sweeting pleaded not guilty to both charges and was granted bail with sureties. He must report to his nearest police station every Thursday until his case resumes on March 4, 2027.

In a separate matter, Shannoya Kemp, 24, of West Street, was placed on three months’ probation in connection with an assault at Lynden Pindling International Airport.

Kemp was accused of unlawfully assaulting Treasure Gardiner at the airport on October 13.

Kemp was ordered to pay Gardiner $250 in compensation and faced a $150 fine or one month in prison in default of probation.

Kemp is due back in court on January 27, 2027.
