A 25-YEAR-OLD nightclub worker pleaded not guilty yesterday to stealing $3,500 from a Commonwealth Bank account and money laundering.
Shaniqua Moxey, of Toot Shop Corner, was accused of stealing the money, which belonged to Alvin Duncanson, on January 19, 2026, in New Providence.
She was also charged with money laundering for allegedly knowingly acquiring the $3,500, representing the proceeds of crime.
Moxey appeared before Assistant Chief Magistrate Shaka Serville and elected to be tried in the Magistrate’s Court. The court heard she worked at V12 nightclub.
Inspector Cordero Farrington did not object to bail, while the defence asked that it be set at a nominal amount.
Moxey was granted $3,500 bail with one or two sureties and ordered to sign in at the Quakoo Street Police Station every Sunday before 7pm.
The matter was adjourned to May 11, 2027.
