The Bahamas has been recognised by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Foreign Affairs as one of 16 countries whose diplomatic and consular missions were honoured for their co-operation.
The recognition was presented during a ceremony in Abu Dhabi, at which UAE deputy prime minister and minister of foreign affairs, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, witnessed the launch of the ministry’s new 2027–2029 strategy and honoured recipients of the sixth Minister of Foreign Affairs Excellence Award.
The Bahamas was among 17 diplomatic and consular missions recognised for their co-operation with the UAE ministry across various areas. The award highlights the importance of diplomatic engagement and collaboration between the UAE and its international partners.
The newly-launched Ministry of Foreign Affairs Strategy 2027–2029 sets out the UAE’s priorities for the next three years. Its five main pillars include expanding economic and political partnerships, harnessing scientific and technological advances, improving the efficiency of services, strengthening public diplomacy and promoting the UAE’s values and international presence.
Sheikh Abdullah said the strategy will help the ministry anticipate global changes, strengthen institutional capabilities and build on the UAE’s foreign policy achievements. He also emphasised the importance of innovation, teamwork and effective performance in meeting the ministry’s future objectives.
