LANA Hanna Levarity is the perfect example that learning has no expiration date. The retired educator recently completed two postgraduate degrees, proving that learning is a lifelong adventure.
After retiring in 2019, Mrs Hanna Levarity, a former accounting educator, decided that she would continue her time in the classroom — this time as a student.
Throughout her life, her dedication to learning has been a foundational pursuit. From her early years in education to her successful career in the corporate world, she said: “I have always embraced the idea that learning is a journey without end.”
It is why, even in retirement, she has remained committed to expanding her knowledge and honing her skills.
She recently completed two postgraduate degrees — an MBA in Finance and Sustainability and an LLM (Master of Laws) in International Business Law from Robert Kennedy College in Zurich, Switzerland, in partnership with the University of Cumbria in the United Kingdom.
She admitted that balancing rigorous coursework with other commitments presented major challenges. Yet she persevered, demonstrating determination and resilience.
Her academic pursuits also extend beyond the confines of traditional education. As an avid reader and researcher, she is constantly seeking out new ideas and perspectives to broaden her understanding of the world. Whether attending professional seminars, participating in online courses or engaging in self-directed study, she approaches each opportunity for learning with enthusiasm and curiosity.
Her pursuit of knowledge is not just about personal fulfilment and self-actualisation; it is also a strategic way to stay relevant and engaged in an ever-changing world. By actively embracing lifelong learning, she has been able to adapt to modern challenges and opportunities with confidence.
She hopes her journey serves as an inspiration to others who may be hesitant to embark on their own academic journeys.
“It is never too late to pursue our passions and achieve our goals, no matter where life may take us,” she said.
As she continues to chart her course in the years ahead, Mrs Hanna Levarity serves as a testament to the transformative power of education. Her journey is a reminder that the pursuit of knowledge is not just a means to an end, but a lifelong adventure that enriches the mind, body and soul.
