A MAN was accused of groping a 15-year-old girl while she slept last week.
Prosecutors allege Merachem Gilbert Jr, 21, inappropriately groped the teenage girl’s breast and buttocks while she was in bed in New Providence on September 5.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to indecent assault before Magistrate Abigail Farrington.
Gilbert was granted $6,000 bail with one or two sureties. Under the terms of his bail, the defendant must sign in at the East Street South Police Station every Friday by 6pm.
He was warned not to interfere with any witnesses in the matter or risk having his bail revoked.
The defendant returns for trial on November 16.
Reserve Inspector Deveaux prosecuted the case.
