TWO men were accused of stealing a car at gunpoint on Charles Vincent Street last week.
Prosecutors allege Lomark Stubbs, 22, and Devonte Douglas, 22, while armed with a handgun, robbed Winston Mitchell of his white 2010 Nissan Bluebird Sylphy as he was parked in front of a friend’s residence waiting to take him to work at 4am on September 1.
The two men had reportedly exited a grey Toyota that pulled up beside the complainant before the robbery. They allegedly fled the scene in the stolen vehicle, heading north.
The stolen vehicle was valued at $5,000.
The defendants were not required to enter a plea to armed robbery before Acting Chief Magistrate Ancella Evans.
The accused were informed that their matter would proceed to the Supreme Court through a voluntary bill of indictment (VBI).
They were advised of their right to apply for bail through the Supreme Court.
The accused will be remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until their VBIs are served on October 9.
Corporal Moultrie prosecuted the case.
