A multi-jurisdiction financial services provider yesterday announced it has appointed Toni Bonzon as managing director of its Bahamas office.

Suntera Global, which offers fund, corporate and private wealth services, said in a statement that Mr Bonzon will have responsibility for running all Bahamian operations and driving new business opportunities, leading a team that offers solutions for global clients with a particular focus on Latin America.

It added that Mr Bonzon, who has a near-two decade carreer in international financial services after joining the industry in 2007, has extensive experience in compliance, trust relationship management, fiduciary services, business development and cross-border structuring.

He has worked at a number of major private banking institutions in Switzerland and, more recently, held senior client relationship and business development roles at Trident Trust Group in the British Virgin Islands (BVI) and Miami. During that time, he established contacts and relationships with private clients and intermediaries across Latin America, the Caribbean and the US.

Mr Bonzon said: “I’m delighted to join Suntera at such an exciting stage of its international growth. With over 15 years of experience in the international fiduciary industry, including six years in the BVI and more recently three years in Miami, I’m excited to bring my international experience to Suntera and help strengthen its presence across Latin America.

Mr Bonzon holds a degree in business administration, as well as the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) diploma in international trust management and STEP professional postgraduate diploma in private wealth advice.
