THE BAHAMAS repatriated 184 Haitian nationals to Cap-Haïtien, Haiti, in a two-part operation involving a Bahamasair flight from New Providence through Inagua.

The repatriation began when the aircraft departed New Providence for Inagua with 29 detainees. Upon arrival, another 71 detainees boarded, bringing the total number of Haitian nationals on the flight to 100.

The aircraft then travelled to Cap-Haïtien, where the 100 detainees were disembarked before returning to Inagua for the remaining 84 Haitian nationals.

The aircraft subsequently returned to Cap-Haïtien, where the remaining detainees were disembarked, completing the operation.

Minister of State for Immigration Darron Pickstock said the operation demonstrated the Government’s commitment to enforcing the country’s immigration laws.

“Today’s repatriation exercise demonstrate that our immigration laws are enforced in a manner that is organized, accountable, and consistent with established procedures. We will continue to work closely with our law enforcement agencies and international partners to strengthen border management, address unlawful migration, and ensure that those subject to removal are repatriated in a safe and orderly manner.”
