A MAN was charged in Grand Bahama’s Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday with negligently causing harm to an 11-year-old boy who was allegedly injured by a dog while walking in a residential neighbourhood.
Stephen Ferguson, 70, of Freeport, appeared before Magistrate Uel Johnson unrepresented by counsel.
It is alleged that on September 5 in Freeport, Grand Bahama, Ferguson negligently and unlawfully caused harm to the child.
He was also charged with permitting an animal to be at large.
Prosecutors allege Ferguson was in charge of a dog that was at large in a public place and on the road when the animal caused harm to the boy.
Ferguson pleaded not guilty to both charges.
Prosecutor Corporal 3700 Kenton Smithy did not object to bail.
Magistrate Johnson granted Ferguson $2,000 bail with one surety and adjourned the matter to February 3, 2027.
