Two men accused of a brazen daylight shooting in a Freeport neighbourhood in 2020 that left two men dead went on trial in the Supreme Court last week.
Trevor Reckley and Shamaz Brown are each charged with two counts of murder in connection with the deaths of Denny Rolle and Kim Smith.
Both men have pleaded not guilty and are out on bail.
The case is being heard before an eight-member jury and is presided over by Justice Andrew Forbes.
The Crown alleges that on May 11, 2020, Reckley and Brown, acting together, murdered Rolle and Smith.
According to the prosecution's case, Rolle was standing on Limewood Lane near a residence and speaking with occupants of a blue Ford Focus when a dark-coloured Honda Accord pulled up.
The prosecution alleges that an occupant of the Honda opened fire, striking Rolle in the head.
Smith, who was inside the Ford Focus, was also shot in the head and died at the scene.
Emergency medical personnel were called, and Rolle was taken to Rand Memorial Hospital, where he died at about 4.30pm.
Police later launched an investigation into the killings and arrested Reckley and Brown.
The prosecution began presenting its case last Wednesday, with Dr Mandy Pedican, a pathologist at Rand Memorial Hospital, testifying as an expert witness.
Dr Pedican told the court that the autopsy findings showed that both men died from gunshot wounds to the head.
Scene-of-crime officers and a key prosecution witness have also testified.
The Crown is expected to call several more witnesses, including the police investigator and two other witnesses, before closing its case.
Sean Norville-Smith, of the Office of the Attorney General, is prosecuting the case.
Rahzard Humes represents Reckley, while Krystal Kelly-Newman represents Brown.
The trial was scheduled to begin at 11.30am on Tuesday but was delayed until 3 pm because Mr Humes was attending another matter in the Court of Appeal.
When the matter resumed, Justice Forbes adjourned the trial until September 28 for continuation.
