RoyalStar chief joins FOCOL’s Board team

FOCOL Holdings yesterday announced Anton Saunders has joined its Board of Directors with effect from September 10.

Mr Saunders is president and chief executive of RoyalStar Assurance, where he oversees strategy, financial performance, risk and governance. The BISX-listed petroleum products supplier, in a statement, said his appointment adds executive and financial depth to its Board as the group continues to expand.

“Anton Saunders brings the judgment of a leader who has spent his career guiding serious institutions,” said Sir Franklyn Wilson, chairman of FOCOL Holdings. “His experience in finance, regulation and risk will be valuable to FOCOL as we continue building a resilient energy business with a clear responsibility to shareholders, customers, employees and the communities we serve.”

Mr Saunders has held senior roles at RoyalStar Assurance and its predecessor, Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance (Bahamas). He has also served in national and corporate governance roles, including xhairman of the National Insurance Board (NIB), chairman of the Water & Sewerage Corporation, and director at Arawak Port Development (APD).

“I am honoured to join the Board of FOCOL Holdings,” said Mr Saunders. “FOCOL’s work is closely connected to economic activity, mobility and everyday life across the communities it serves. I look forward to contributing to the Board’s oversight as the company continues to invest in reliability, resilience and long-term value.”

Mr Saunders is a certified public accountant and holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Florida State University.
