The Tourism Development Corporation (TDC) is partnering with Junior Achievement (JA) for a second year in a bid to equip young Bahamians with the knowledge, skills and experience to succeed in an increasingly competitive global economy.

The Corporation, in a statement, said it will once again sponsor and mentor students over the 20-week JA programme, providing practical exposure to entrepreneurship, financial literacy, work readiness and the business world.

Under this year’s theme, ‘Unlocking potential’, the event will allow TDC to better understand its responsibilities as a JA company while aligning programme logistics, mentorship expectations and the overall student experience.

JA has provided TDC with a programme guide and curriculum designed to support the company's day-to-day engagement with students, while reinforcing that JA representatives will remain available to provide guidance and support.

“We are incredibly excited to continue this venture with Junior Achievement for a second year, and to also continue investing in the potential of our young people,” said Ashton Cleare, project manager at the Tourism Development Corporation.

“Our first year showed us just how valuable these experiences can be when students are allowed to learn, lead, create and engage with professionals in a real world environment. This year, we want to build on that foundation and make the experience even more meaningful. We hope that every student who comes through the TDC JA Company leaves with greater confidence, stronger skills and a clearer understanding of what is possible for their future.”

Student achievers participate in JA’s orientation and registration process on September 19, 2026, with the TDC conducting interviews to identify those who will become members of its JA Company for the 2026–2027 programme year.

The programme will officially begin with the first TDC student company meeting on October 5, 2026, following the recruitment and orientation process.
