A 33-YEAR-OLD man denied allegations that he broke into a woman’s Peardale Road home through a window at 4am and raped her at knifepoint in February.
Prosecutors allege Andrew Nerenal entered the 27-year-old woman’s home on February 21 and that she awoke to find him holding a sharp object over her.
He allegedly sexually assaulted her before fleeing through the front door towards a nearby park.
The woman was taken to hospital, where she was treated for an injury to her right finger.
Nerenal pleaded not guilty to rape, burglary and entry into a building by night before Justice Guillimina Archer-Minns on Friday.
His case will continue before Justice Jeannine Weech Gomez, with a trial date fixture scheduled for September 30.
Nerenal said Ian Cargill represented him, but the attorney was not present in court.
He was returned to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services following the arraignment.
Eucal Bonaby and Betty Wilson prosecuted the case.
