Friday’s Updates: Hurricane Isaias
8.30pm: From the Associated Press – Isaias had maximum sustained winds of 80 mph (130 kph) Friday night and was expected to strengthen in the coming hours, the U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami said. The storm was centered about 175 miles (280 kilometers) south-southeast of Nassau in the Bahamas and was moving northwest at 15 mph (24 kph).
With 66 new cases, COVID-19 total now stands at 574
As Hurricane Isaias began to make its presence felt at 8pm on Friday in New Providence, the Minister of Health, Renward Wells, has announced the total number of cases of COVID-19 in The Bahamas has reached a whopping 574 cases.

There were 66 new cases of COVID-19 reported on Friday, with 39 in Grand Bahama and 27 in New Providence.
