Bahamas records 142 new HIV cases during 2025
ONE hundred and forty two newly reported HIV cases were recorded in The Bahamas in 2025, with men accounting for more than 60 percent of cases and people aged 30 to 39 representing the largest affected group, according to National HIV/AIDS and Infectious Diseases Programme Director Dr Nikia Forbes.
Bahamas certified for ending mother-to-child HIV transmission
THE Bahamas has reduced mother-to-child transmission of HIV to two percent or less, achieving a key international benchmark that removes it as a significant public health threat, health officials said yesterday.
