Mitchell’s office accuses Dr Rollins of ‘betrayal’
“Within the PLP he had become a poster child for emotional outbursts and not thinking through the many statements that he made." Is this woman serious? This whole damn dysfunctional organization is known for this. You all are a disgrace on a world stage, but your ego is so huge and you are so drunk with the perception of absolute power that you cannot get out of your own way. Betrayal? Thank God WE, the people, the few remaining productive people in this country, have a voice such as his that speaks up! Legal action? Have you never heard the way you all carry on, particularly when slandering innocent people from the protected halls of Parliament? Please, please. Sit small, and stop trying to impress the sheeple who suck up and embrace any piece of sewerage you all put out there in the public domain. For your further information, there are more than just Dr. Rollins who are unhappy about how the PLP has run this country deep into the ground. The only ones to be pitied are those of us who have to suffer under this beyond awful administration as a result of the misplacement of Xs at the polls. Betrayal? That's an apt description of what this government has done to the Bahamian people. How you can even put pen to paper to come up with this, and take a stance of a wronged party is laughable, and were the situation in which we now find ourselves not so scary we would sit speechless. I encourage every thinking, productive person who wants better for our country to actively campaign and to vote for the ousting of each and every one of these incompetent bastards from power. Once that is done, a whole lot of genuine and legitimate legal processes need to take place and appropriate punishment enforce to have them make proper atonement. Unbelievable.

So we now live in a country where these old stuck in the past politicians and PLP minions become deeply offended and lash out against any opponent that speaks out against any member of the PLP, even when the members of this government are guilty of the most reprehensible actions that are ruining this country on the world stage. I am flabbergasted at how much we have regressed since 1992, when the FNM party won their first election. Bahamians had better take a long hard look down the road and do the right thing in 2017. We need to rid the Bahamas of this bunch forever, if not for ourselves, at least for future generations, who will surely feel the full brunt of all of the ills that this government is doing today.

And what about Christie's autistic son who got the contract for all of the swimming pools and waterways ? Subsequently sub-contracting them out. No conflict there either presumably. So everyone covering everyone else's arse. I mean ! Recall what these same people had to say about the UBP and the Bay Street Boys. It was wrong for Stafford Sands but its A. o.k. for Allison Gibson, because it ain't in her name. It just ain't that far away. Where did the daughters get the money to invest in something like this ?. You all should be impeached for wholesale corruption. Animal Farm foretold this eventuality ! The Pigs are more equal now than the rest of the animals. And we are the Animals.

This, of course, is outrageous aka nothing new for the PLP. Whether you profit or lose from a deal, the mere fact that you or your family are invested means that you are conflicted. This throws the whole Government charge of winding up the company into disarray, because it is no longer a question of what's best for the Bahamian people but what's best for her two daughters. One must ask which is more likely: that her daughters are big time business tycoons or that they are merely fronting for her private investment.

For her children and the PM's son to have been awarded contracts through and independent bidding process would be like lightening striking the HOA seven times during the rendition of redemption song

There's no hope for Bahamian private-sector creditors ever getting paid anything near what they are owed if Baha Mar goes through a liquidation process of any kind under the supervision of the Supreme Court of The Bahamas. At best they would receive very few pennies on the dollar once the local liquidators, the local crony lawyers and the Christie-led PLP government have picked the juicy carcass clean and sold the remains off to the highest corrupt bidder favoured by the likes of Christie, Maynard-Gibson and Baltron Bethel.

Let me just say...the PM made no sense.
He knew ahead of time the inflammatory, unprofessional, undemocratic, thug-like, unconstitutional comments, his sitting ministers, representatives of the government, were going to make. But he did not stop them knowing that they did not speak for the government? He knew beforehand that Izmirlian (not the only developer) had issues with CCA, and still thought he was 'helping' by doing nothing? And later, another government representative commends them for a job well (NOT) done? Then he, himself, progressed the BahaMar scenario toward liquidation while the developer thought he was still in negotiation? And he wonders why the developer feels like he is fighting the government? Unbelievable!

Freddy Boy is the type of guy who would enroll in a month or two of executive program courses at the John F. Kennedy School of Government and then tell the whole world a few years later that he holds a full fledged two-year degree of Master in Public Administration from Harvard University. What a loser!

UPDATED: Rosewood bids to quit Baha Mar as govt argues for wind up petition
On my Bloomberg screen yesterday, I found this little nugget:
The central bank on Tuesday completed putting $48 billion (£30.6 billion) into the China Development Bank and $45 billion (£28.6 billion) into the Export-Import Bank of China, the official Xinhua news agency reported.
With the recent collapse of the Chinese stock market, the capital injections were necessary. At its peak, the Shanghai Composite Index was 152pc higher than a year earlier. Yet after that colossal bull run, shares plunged by 32pc in less than three weeks. The total value of equities listed in China dropped by around $4 trillion (£2.6 trillion).
So you are right, the Exim Bank will not put any more money up. They were foolish not to let Sarkis use his money to finish the project.

UPDATED: Rosewood bids to quit Baha Mar as govt argues for wind up petition
You are absolutely right. Another operator will take over the leases tomorrow. Baha Mar will be open by October. Crime will stop because people will realise how stupid it is. The guns will be donated to BAMSI to make ploughshares and unemployment will drop to 1%. The Haitians will all leave by September, everyone in the Bahamas will be making $50,000 a year by November, and maybe Jesus will come and rapture the PLP.
How could I be so stupid not to see this???? It must be the work of Satan in me. My relatives are not having problems making ends meet. My aunt doesn't need a wheelchair that costs over two thousand dollars. She needs a healing at the PLP headquarters. There is nothing wrong with her. It's all in her head.
How could I have been so blind, as to not recognise that our Dear Leader is not all wise. And our unmarried cabinet ministers are so masculine that woman are afraid of them. And the chairman could have been a Rhodes scholar if he could have found the right road in his youth. And the cauliflower ears of the attorney general are that way from the wisdom that drips from her orifices. Dear me. I am so wrong.
How could I have been so blind? Quick, cut my head open, and implant the chip before I change my mind.
No my dear Tal, you chide me because I voice your secret fears. And you do not have the intellectual honesty to admit it.

Banker: I don't think for a minute that CCA has the money itself to develop Hilton Pointe and with the tide changing in China's fortunes, they may decide that global expansionism is not really for them. Then we will have a tourism desert from Bay Street to Cable Beach. Has our government asked for any guarantee's on completion, I doubt it, they done got the private payouts so why should they care ? .

Mitchell’s office accuses Dr Rollins of ‘betrayal’
Mr. Mitchell needs to REALLY listen to, and UNDERSTAND the words of "Redemption Song". This poetic ballad was written at the end of Bob Marley's career in 1980 and quickly became the inspiration for oppressed people all over the World.
Although Marley previously sang about the struggle of black men and women against the racial prejudice that was rampant in the 60's and 70's, "Redemption Song" represents a change in style and content from his previous recordings. Written shortly before his death, this song challenges persons who are struggling against oppression, to "Emancipate yourself from mental slavery, none but ourself can free our minds".
Instead of railing against the forces of "Babylon" and seeing the struggle of oppressed people as an EXTERNAL struggle against evil forces, he realized, at the end of his life, that "By the hand of the Almighty, we forward in this generation".
In other words, by 1980, he saw that, because of God's power, great changes were taking place in the world and that the most important battle was now an internal one, because although the struggle in the outside world was succeeding, there still remained an internal battle to free ones mind from self doubt and the inferiority complex that racism had created.
Mr. Mitchell should free himself from mental slavery! He lives in The Bahamas in 2015! We have majority rule! There are no longer oppressive white people trying to enslave black Bahamians! Babylon was overthrown a long time ago by the hand of The Almighty ! If you must sing, "sing a song of Freedom", "Redemption songs!"...but also, you must free your mind and thereby let go of your racist baggage!
One last thought: if your racist comments are not truly how you think, but instead are calculated to inflame Bahamian voters, you should be DEEPLY ASHAMED of yourself! As a leader in this country, your role should be to lift up and enlighten those Bahamians less educated and less aware than you, not to prey on their racial insecurity for the sole purpose of winning votes!
