U.S. ANGER AS CUBANS DEPORTED TO HAVANA
The Comrade Madame Congresswoman's own Republican Party has never demonstrated the high level of respect for Cubans as any of our respective Bahamaland's government administrations have always extended. The present US practice toward Cubans is to stop them from reaching American dry land. Those Cubans who are not lucky enough to reach the shore are Immediately returned to Cuba, unless they fear persecution there, but only those who meet the definition of asylum refugee are accepted to eventually be resettled to a THIRD country. Even when our Bahamaland's own illegal or trouble makers enter the US, they are eventually deported back home. Minister Freddie stick to your guns. It might hurt the red shirts, if they stood alongside a minister who has proven time after time, that he is not detached from the seriousness of illegal immigration problems...and they are serious. Some of his own cabinet colleagues and MP's need to take a break away from bad mouthing the minister behind his back.

Bahamians are so brain washed by the United States they believe they are so perfect but here it is a suspect escaped from that country to our country and now if he is here he will be caught like the "bare foot bandit" learn to have faith in your own.

A Bahamian, can, should and must do it. For too long we have been saying Bahamians cant ride a bike, while at the same time never letting them actually get on one.

I regret reading so much about crime in the Bahamas. This archipello should be the most attractive holliday-detination in the world!! To fight crime in this thght-populated capitol of The Bahamas I believe government has to consider investing in modern technology as police-vehicles equipped with infrared-camera's, and camera's with tax-plate recognition.Main roads like Prince Charles Drive; Bailu Hill Road; Camichael Road; Bay Street; Shirley Street; The bridge to PI; Mackey Street; Robinson Road etc should also be equiped with cameras able to recognize tax-plates. This, together with a central database combining information from several sources (car-insurance, drivers-license, police record) will able police not only to fight crime, as to take uninsured cars out of traffic.
Furthermore I believe The Bahamas Government needs to consider actions against fire-arms.

To the government: Change the laws - they are outdated!! Stop twisting the Truth!! Crime is not down!!!
And we as Bahamians need to wake up. Take responsibility for our children and how they are brought up. STOP THE Enabling and the Cover-ups!!!!!! - when these things are done you are guilty by association!!!!!!!

Adding insult to injury, a female employee of the U.S. Embassy based here in Nassau was physically accosted yesterday and robbed of her personal belongings as she made her way to church. CHURCH, for Christ's sake! You cannot even attend service in peace these days without being ambushed! Embassy officials have since had to make the decision to (hopefully) temporarily close the Embassy until further notice to protect their own, and one cannot blame them. However, it will be to the detriment of "innocent", hard-working Bahamians, who, like today, will be turned away upon arrival for Visa appointments. The level of crime in this country is sickening, repulsive, repugnant, abhorrent, abominable, downright disastrous! For far too long we have sat in the comfort of our 'eastern' and 'western' homes, sipping on champagne with an arrogant, untouchable attitude. But as you see, crime affects us all! Bridges are being burned all around us, leaving many Bahamians up "the creek" without a paddle. Forty years of Independence??? WHERE???? God help this country! GOD HELP THIS BAHAMALAND!

Everyone is sorry after getting caught. Suppose you weren't caught, how many more times would you have robbed hard working people who earned their pay? Learn from your mistakes but this type of crime should never have occurred. So do your time.

I would have slapped him too if I'd told him to move his arm. I have no tolerance for violations of my personal space.
It is regrettable that it happened the way it did, but is anyone TRULY surprised?
It's ridiculous that we expect our children to be respectful in school, but our leaders give them no good examples to follow.

Great written piece and a very sad story recall my personal experience having two sons with the same condition and God protect them during their attacks. I feel the pain of the parents losing a child who appeared to have been so brilliant. May God give you comfort during this time.

One of the saddest stories I've heard, we have so few exemplary young men. He sounds like a star.
Long term solution needed, it requires someone to think about how staff can be employed, transport can be arranged and facilities can be maintained over the long term. STOP PLAYING AROUND ABOUT DROPPED CELL PHONE CALLS.. Get to work.
