ACCORDING to Wikipedia, threatening the president of the United States is a Class E Felony under United States Code Title 18, Section 871.

I WAS interested to read the letter from JB, June 23rd, on the matter of the party faithful. There are basically two forms of government, Conservative, and the many titles of the others under one umbrella, Liberal, Socialist, Democratic, Labour etc.
Political Deceit and Plunder
AS a lifelong supporter of the now defunct and badly demoralised Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) I profusely apologise to the good people of our wonderful nation for being a co-conspirator with that party and its then leadership cadre in selling a patently bogus agenda back in 2012. The PLP as I used to know it is no more and started to vanish in the last year of The Gold Rush Administration. The startling revelations made by the Hon Doctor Hubert A Minnis (FNM-Killarney), our Prime Minister, during his budget contribution, brought down the scales from my eyes. I was once politically blind......now I am able to see clearly, again.
PLP support
EVEN though the election is over and the FNM are still trying to get settled into power, I continue to be amazed at the number of people who supported the PLP in the last election.

Help the animals
IT is with great concern and frustration that I write this letter. I am an individual who believes in helping humans and animals. Today, however, I am focusing on the plight of stray animals on this island. I do what I can to assist dogs I come across daily. I give them food and water and if I notice an infection I purchase antibiotics to eradicate the minor problem. I see some dogs very seldom and there are others I feed daily.
Who authorised the payments?
Since May 10th, 2017, and especially after the Budget Speech, we have constantly listened to a litany of how there were some questionable and extraordinary spending, at almost all the Ministries. However, one thing that has not been said is - who authorised the payments?

One by one, the lies, mischaracterisations and false narratives that helped (with dollops of foreign money) the FNM to sweep to power, are being exposed, fizzling or simply benefitting from a new and unprecedented policy of Prime Ministerial aloofness.
Pools at South Beach
The pools at South Beach have been closed for several years, and from its present appearance and according to comments made by the Defense Force officers that are stationed there they will not be opened for a long time.

I was pleasantly surprised this morning while driving out west and happened to pass the Prime Minister on the way to his office creeping along in the morning traffic like the rest of us.

Challenge of revitalising Downtown
The Hon Minister of Tourism, Dinisio D’Aguliar (FNM-Free Town), and the Minnis Administration have their collective work cut out for them when it comes to the revitilisation of the downtown environment and The Festival Place at Prince George Dock. With the relocation of many traditional businesses and merchants from Bay Street, decades ago, to the inner city and suburbs, that main strip, from East Street up to the Sir Sidney Poitier Bridge, has become an eye sore of no small order. In fact, Bay Street as we used to know it has become a ghost town and an area where Bahamians pimp out themselves and sell illegal drugs, according to the police.
