Listen carefully to all sides

AS MAY 7th approaches, all registered voters and people who we think are registered will be faced with a common problem.

Where the PM goes, the PLP follows

We are quickly approaching May 7th. It is amazing to me that the PLP continue to follow the Prime Minister wherever he goes to have a rally.

Imagine the next generation

As I move around I can hear and feel the frustration that engulfs our society.

As we listen to politicians

It is truly amazing that politicians are so able to divide us along the lines of their views. We look at the same item and depending on our political leanings we develop totally opposing views.

Who tief a bit of Nassau?

ASK any Bahamian: "What is the size of New Providence?" Invariably you will be told "21 by 7". Wrong answer! The length of our "Island Paradise" is just over 18.5 statute miles (16 and a bit nautical miles)! Don't believe me; check it out on Google Earth or a chart plotter!

Vandalism a sign of PLP beliefs

THE defacement and destruction of FNM posters and signs could be noticed throughout the island of New Providence. On my way out of my community of Mt Pleasant Village today, I have noticed that the sign and posters of the FNM leader, and candidate have been knocked totally out of the ground and smashed.

Union must answer for its actions

1957: Nassau International Airport opens. One hundred protesting taxi drivers block access to the new airport for 24 hours.

Playing the game of politics

POLITICS is a game and there are no rules. The game board is comprised of players who claim that they want what is best for us. They will say anything and do anything to get "another chance", to do all the good things they would like to do for us.

Posters Vandalised

I HAVE noticed that three of the giant campaign posters of Free National Movement (FNM) Member of Parliament for Pineridge, Kwasi Thompson, have been torn. I am referring to the posters on the circle on Coral Road and Settlers Way; Pioneers Way and East Mall Drive and Pioneers Way and West Atlantic Drive.

Foxdale playground

WITH election fever upon the citizens of The Bahamas, Foxdale Subdivision is being courted by the sitting member of parliament with the promise of a long overdue playground being provided after said MP is re-elected.

Why has Troy Garvey rejoined the PLP?

I WAS taken aback after I had seen a photo of popular Grand Bahama activist Troy Garvey on stage with Gregory Moss at a massive Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) rally in Freeport at the Old Portion Control grounds on Saturday, April 14, on a popular Internet newspaper that is pro-PLP. Moss is the PLP's standard bearer for the Marco City constituency.

Fixed date for vote

HOW is it that no one in the PLP ever dared to broach such a subject when LOP was PM for twenty-five years? Had such a new system been in place, LOP would not have been returned after the first election because he called, I believe, two elections shortly thereafter - one a year later after the first, and another shortly after that...

Exchange control

RECENT comments arising from a public discussion at COB on Exchange Control again raises inaccurate information as to the reasonably expected consequences of the lifting of Exchange Control.

Rallies more important than the message

I HAVE attended the rallies of the Free National Movement (FNM), the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) and the street meetings of the Democratic National Alliance (DNA). All of these political parties have one quest; to be the next government of the Bahamas.

No chance for Curry

The Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) is making plenty noise in Abaco nowadays. Opposition Leader Perry G Christie and Chairman Bradley Roberts are both convinced that Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham will be toppled
