How is Cat Island being skipped for a new airport?
-August 7, 2012 - Phillip Davis said, “Will be building very soon a new terminal at the New Bight airport and its anticipated add another 500 to 1,000 feet onto runway at airport.”
-September 4, 2013 - Phillip Davis said, “I was advised yesterday [Monday] that the Department of Physical Planning has approved plans for the terminal. I think the next step is for an airport planner to go down to Cat Island with those plans, to identify a proper location and site for the building itself. One cannot underestimate the value of these airport investments. They attract airline and investor confidence and should generate increase arrivals”
-February 20, 2015 - Phillip Davis said, ““We (MOW) are going to build the (New Bight) airport... We have hired all the Architects, all engineers; Structural, Civil and the plans should be complete in the next 2-3 weeks. To remove all the nay-Sayers by Monday you can go down to admin office and you can see ground floor plans for the airport and the details of all that, you can identify the arch and engineers working on it and it will be done.”
-March 1, 2015 - Phillip Davis said, “…then we said when are we gonna start with the airport… So, I hope to start very soon. Ground breaking, I'm certain will take place within 2 months. It will take place within 2 months the ground breaking, but we expect to do some other works within that time so far as the airside works are concerned.”
-May 2, 2017 - Phillip Davis said, “We have also engaged consultant architects and engineers for the international airport terminal building at New Bight... the government has a plan for a new airport in Cat Island and has approved expenditure of up to $11.5m for the new terminal and runway rehabilitation.”
-Budget Communication 2014/15 - Phillip Davis said, “Over the next year work will progress on… the airport terminal and runway at the Bight, Cat Island. These works will provide an increasing number of new construction and permanent jobs and stimulate meaningful economic growth in Cat Island.”
-Debate on Annual Budget 2015/2016 - Phillip Davis said, “We have in hand a preliminary plan for the new airport. Cabinet has already approved expenditure in the sum of up to $11.5 million for the new terminal and runway... Construction will begin within the first half of this fiscal period and be complete within 18 months thereafter.”
-Debate on Annual Budget 2016/2017 - Phillip Davis said, “…Government has agreed to issue a contract to Woslee Construction for the new airport terminal and runway rehabilitation at New Bight.”

THis is a bunch of crap How can one of the reasons for the need for this loan be the increase in fuel prices when we pay a fuel surcharge which negates that.

Do you know even one Bahamian, . . . . ... Who does not steal or cheat or lie, . . . . . ..... And now our lying cheating leaders, . . . . . ... Have the right to spy, . . . . . ....... They will watch you in the bathroom, . . . . . ... Listen to you in your bed, . . . . . ... Your cell phone will be tapped, . . . . ... And your emails will be read, . . . . .... Dishonest government workers, . . . . . ...... Noting everything you do, . . . . . .. This day they passed the spy bill, is a day we will all rue, . . . ...... Crooked politicians get corrupt from too much power, . . . . ....... Living high on public purse in sycophantic tower, ... . . .............. Our country's now on the path to an autocratic state, . . . . ..... To set out on a saner path, it is now much too late, . . . . ....... These evil men have voted for a destructive plan for all, . . . ..... That will surely bite them on the grass when from ruling class they fall.

Agedone, the problem with this spy bill is that an elected politician gets to order who gets spied upon with no checks and balances. If it took a court order or judges agreement from an independent judiciary then it would become palatable. Can you imagine the damage politicians, such as the totally amoral ones we saw in power with the shuffling buffoon, could wreak if they had access to everyone's emails, phone conversation, internet browsing, and minute by minute location through phone location tracking?

I once could have been a casualty of the banks. I continued to make payments in excess of what I should have. In the end, I got my money back. Unsophisticated borrowers stop paying when they are unsatisfied, let the late fees pile up then they have no redress. I got a lawyer, my loan was finished, they owed me money.
However, I do find fault with folkswho think banks are predators, but the payday loan folks are not, the insurance companies are not, the webshops are not.
We are chickens for plucking.

Phillip Davis is a joke. He attempts to say he is unaware of this. Renew, Bamsi and how this situation. He should not be in Parliament. I can not see for the life of me why he was elected the leader of the PLP. The PLP seems to be incapable of reform

KP’s solution is another half step and won’t address the following further black listing issues:
- Use of nominee directors and shareholders
- No register of beneficial owners
- Zero prosecutions related to STRs since 2000
- Zero income tax
- Painfully slow cross boarded tax information exchange
- Lack of up to standard ML regs, and monitoring of web shops
- Web shops performing banking services
- Exchange controls inhibiting 2 way capital movements
- Many industries off limits to international investors
- Lack of transparency on government expenses Etc etc
But KP hopefully knew all of this. So why is he caught by surprise?

$5m Solar Energy Park planned for Grand Bahama
This will do nothing for reduced energy rates, only their bottom line net profits. Meanwhile, their "Energy Rider Program" as it existed (and until suspended) did not compensate anyone with a private Alt energy system who back fed Kwh. Free to them power which they then sell to other customers at full pop. That program stretched Return on investment from 4 years to 24! A national Energy program is needed but seems this lot can't figure it out. Where does the also suspended national policy sit anyway? Meanwhile, the country bleeds foreign reserves for black gold. Typical. No, we will remain dead last in Alternate energy development in the Caribbean for the foreseeable future.

Asking Bahamians to abide by the law.............................................. Imagine that. Try driving on the streets of Nassau. Try using facts in an argument. Try getting transparency and honesty from our government. If not for the likes of people such as Fred Smith, I can't imagine how low this country could fall. Hey, I don't agree with everything he says and does. But who the hell else with any voice in this country fights for the average man? Someone in our government? Let's get real for a change and look outside our smoky windows. It's a big world out there.
