Dear Douglas Manchester, please do not let your Detractors dissuade you from taking up your post in The Bahamas, as you represent a clear success in the World of Business, indeed like no other Ambassador we have ever had, which I am sure our small developing Country will benefit immensely from. Regrettably, albeit perhaps somewhat comforting, the negativity you are currently facing in spite of such obvious success is much like what holds our own People back known as “the Black Crab Syndrome.”

Having been visiting The Bahamas and New Providence Island in particular since 1964 I can tell you Nassau has left the country!! What was once a beautiful island to visit is now an extension of Miami Beach, enormous hotels with not an ounce of culture or charm! The Straw Market is a mess! Woods Rodgers Walkway is filthy dirty! Bay Street is nothing but souvenir shops with a liquor store and a couple of high end shops just for show. Anything out of the ordinary, Dirty Dicks for one, long gone!

The prices of hotels and restaurants is astounding, I don't know how the average Bahamian can afford to even live there. Even the music is American or Jamaican, so hard to find good Bahamian of yesteryear.

Bahamian culture was tossed out with the trash!

Too many young black Bahamian men have modeled their patterns of social behaviour after that of the urban black(ghetto) culture of the United States ............. that is why we have a problem

JackArawak 5 years, 11 months ago on PLP proposes review panel over marijuana issue

In a brief statement Monday, Opposition Leader Philip “Brave” Davis said his party sympathises with those who have been affected by the country’s anti-drug laws.

Now I understand why the PLP was pushing so hard for drug law reform while in office; I couldn't understand at the time, but now it's very clear. Why on earth did we vote these guys out of power? They seem to have all the right answers.

RIGHT. In addition, when the hurricane carries the roof, the solar panels would not stay put.

Forward thinkers? They can't penetrate the party system. Hence they will never be elected. Hence we end up with Moultrie offering China the Southern Bahamas.

... that statement almost does not seem human. Its hard to imagine one could be so ignorant, calloused and nasty regarding another human life. Regardless of what you may think of him, you seem to have sunken much lower. Just remember, you are at risk of getting covid too. May you reap more than you have sown in this regard!!

Yep, the PLP laid the foundations of the Modern Bahamas, hence the decay, lack of Moral fibre, Lack of infrastructure and frequent Power cuts. Oh, and an empty treasury. Yep, I trust and fear nothing has changed.
